Here’s what’s ahead at Church of the Redeemer UCC!
 
Monthly Community Meal Join the volunteers from Church of the Redeemer UCC and Clague Road UCC at a monthly community meal on the fourth Saturday of the month at Clague, 3650 Clague Road in North Olmsted. Help is always appreciated in setting up, serving and cleaning up. Contact either church for more information: Redeemer (or 440-331-0834); Clague (or 440-734-1040).

Monday Morning Chair Yoga  11:15 a.m. every Monday. $10 a session. Join us for this refreshing hour of mindful chair yoga!
 
Monday Afternoon Bible Study 1 p.m. Pastor Brooke leads an ongoing Bible study on the week’s lectionary passages. 
 
Tuesday Quilters Redeemer’s Women’s Fellowship runs a Tuesday Quilt Group from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your lunch and join in good conversation and beautiful quilting!
 
Tuesday Evening Sign Language Classes Redeemer Fellowship Hall. Youth and adult classes in ASL, taught by BW graduate Cory Svette, founder and director of the Sharon’s Signers community sign language choir. Youth 7-13 meet from 5-6 and will participate in the Sharon’s Youth Signers. Adults 14 and up meet from 7-8:30 p.m. and have the option of participating in the Sharon’s Adult Signers. Classes for each group are $25/month, payable on the first class of each month. Contact the church to leave a message for Cory.
 
Wednesday Evening Choir Rehearsals The Bell Choir meets at 7 p.m. and the Chancel Choir meets at 8 p.m. No experience necessary! Please join us! NOTE: NO REHEARSAL OCT. 30.
 
Thursday Evening Bay West Discussion Group  7-10 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
 
Feb. 21, 6 p.m., Carion Quintet, Latvian Hall, 1385 Andrews Ave., Lakewood CARION fascinates with its carefully choreographed and dramatized performances of classical and modern works, adding a new dimention to traditional concert events. Advance ticket price: $30 for adults, $10 for children.

LENT 2020

This year Olmsted Community Church (Olmsted Falls) and Church of the Redeemer (Westlake) are sharing in food, fellowship, worship, and reflections during the Lenten Season:

February 26 – Ash Wednesday Services, 7 p.m., at Olmsted Community Church. Worship in the sanctuary, imposition of ashes, Pastor Brooke Baker providing the message

Note: There is  an opportunity for a joint choir anthem, members of COR’s choir are invited to join OCC’s choir for rehearsal on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. at OCC to practice. 

Wednesday Midweek Bread and Broth will take place in the fellowship halls of each congregation. The hosting congregation will provide soups and bread. This Lent we will have the opportunity to reflect on contemporary theologians and explore together how they have experienced God in the world:

Note: Olmsted Community Church Choir Members are invited to join COR’s choir at 8 p.m. to practice for joint anthems for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

April 9, 7 p.m., Maundy Thursday Services at Church of the Redeemer.

April 10, 7 p.m., Good Friday: Midday Opportunity at West Park UCC, noon; Evening Opportunity at Olmsted Community Church, 7 p.m. 

April 12 Easter Easter Services to be held during regularly scheduled Sunday Worship at both Church of the Redeemer and Olmsted Community Church. This year OCC will also be offering an Easter Dawn Service outside, additional details to follow.
